  This company, according to its own website, is "one of the largest producers of carrots, salads and broccoli in Australia." A recent investigative report by the ABC's Four Corners program revealed evidence that Covino, in its relationship with labour hire company Chompran Enterprises, engaged in the exploitation of migrant workers. Claims included underpayment, poor conditions and even abuse.

  I'm shocked & appalled at the practices & employment conditions- including wages for workers who pick & pack your fresh fruit & vegetable & process your chickens. The incredibly greedy pricing & lack of corporate responsibility & rhetoric employed by your company when really you are exploiting immigrant workers because they can not defend themselves.   This business supplies major supermarket chains, as well as large fast food chains & other retailers. The allegations that they engaged in the exploitation of workers are now overshadowed by the claim that they took no action to remedy the problem. Indeed, it appears, based on reports, that they actively sought to perpetuate the same exploitation, regardless.
